Solar Council - Protected Bodies (50)
The list of Solar System Protected Bodies - currently numbered at 50, comprise the 50 most important bodies throughout the Solar System. These Solar System bodies have been designated as protected because of their immense intrinsic value to all mankind which precludes these bodies from ever falling under the stewardship of any single private enterprise, or even, indeed, any single Government bound by the gravity hole of Earth.
These designated Solar System Protected Bodies (SSPB) fall into the category of administration under the Solar Council and outside the jurisdiction of the United Nations.
All other bodies in the Solar System are designated as 'free bodies up for grabs' by pioneering and buccaneering entrepreneurs out to exploit the riches that the Solar System has to offer.
However, non-protected bodies will not be free forever - Earth region objects will revert to the stewardship of the Solar Council at a yet to be determined date later this century. There will be further periods of time for objects in a series of other areas throughout the Solar System.
The next cab off the rank is the objects in the Asteroid Belt, and then objects in the Iovian System and within the orbit of Jupiter, and following that in the Saturnian System and within the orbit of Saturn, and following that in the Uranian System and within the orbit of Uranus, and the last stage of the process is the closure of the space for the objects in the Neptunian System and within the orbit of Neptune.
So, all-in-all, 6 stages of development to progress through for the Solar System as mankind steps into the mode of full-on exploitration of the Solar System throughout the 21st & 22nd Centuries.
